Connecting with God’s Word: A Source of Wisdom and Hope

Youth Bible Study

Verse Of the Day

Romans 15.4 –  For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope (ESV)

Do you ever think about the things you take for granted?

Maybe it’s food, water, or the roof over your head. It could be the sunlight filtering through the trees, the air you breathe, or the people closest to your heart Or maybe it’s God’s Word.

Access to Scripture – A Blessing and a Call to Hope

Reading on YouVersion grants you access to Scripture via a phone or computer, which might seem commonplace. However, for many worldwide, this access is a luxury. The Bible teaches us endurance and offers hope through its teachings. Hope ignites as this story reveals: imperfect individuals embraced by a holy God, prophecies a testament to His unfolding plan.

Connecting with God Via His Word

We face a choice: ignore past wisdom and live only for the present, or delve into deeper questions and realize we are part of a grander narrative. Consider Moses and his miracles in Egypt, Joshua’s conquest of Jericho, David’s victory over Goliath, Daniel’s survival in the lion’s den, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s escape from the fiery furnace, Esther’s courage in saving her people, Peter’s miraculous deeds including healing through his shadow, and Paul’s healing handkerchief. These stories abound in the Bible, urging us to ponder our place in history

And For You My Dear Youth

God is still in the business of performing wonders and its through You and I. We too can be a wonder to this generation if we pay attention more to God and learn the mysteries hidden in the bible. When we connect with God through Scripture, we’re reminded of truth, given examples of those who’ve endured before us, and encouraged by the hope we have in Christ. If you’re curious, if you’re longing for more, or even if you’re sceptical, there is power in reading His Word. Today, why not make studying it a priority and see what happens.

Prayer

May God grant us the grace of revelation that his word may come alive to us as we spend time reading it through Christ our lord. Amen

Overcoming Addiction

I write to you, young men and women, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one (ESV 1 John 2.14)
