A Test of Faith
Three Hebrew boys faced execution by fire for their refusal to obey the King’s command. Not just an ordinary King but the King of Babylon – The Great Nebuchadnezzar himself. In ancient times, the worst you could do is to anger the king, let alone incur his wrath. These three Hebrew boys not only angered the King but went ahead to defy him openly with their words. The king declared that a simple burning would be too lenient a sentence; instead, he ordered the furnace heated seven times more to make them feel the intensity of his wrath when thrown in.
What was their offense? They refused to bow down to the king’s golden idol. When they were brought before the angry king, this was their exact words – “Oh Great king, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” (Daniel 3:16-18).
The God that the Hebrew boys served did not stop the king; indeed, the king threw them into the fire. It was in the fire that the greatest miracle happened. The King looked into the fire and saw not the three men burning, but dancing unharmed, and to his utmost astonishment, a fourth man had joined them amidst the raging flames. He then gave an order to bring them out and exclaimed that there was no god greater than the God of the three Hebrew boys.
Holding Fast to Faith in Adversity
You see my dear young believer, most times many problems overwhelm us, ugly situations that we can’t even know how to solve. Staring at it alone brings fear to us because it appears mountainous. But one thing we must learn is that our God is bigger than that; we just have to trust him and have faith in him. Maybe it will be in that difficult situation that our own 4th man will appear.
Remember, God allowed the King to do his worst only then He started manifesting His glory to show men that He is the greatest. Like the Hebrew boys, don’t just compromise on your standard, don’t compromise on your morality, don’t compromise on serving your God; definitely, you will see the 4th Man in the fire moving to lift you when you least expect it. God is bigger than that problem – the Hebrew boys knew this. The knowledge and mystery is right before you today – Hold on to it, and God will never disappoint you. Trust his process blindly.
Remember God loves you much more than you can ever imagine and waiting for you in open arms to receive you when u pray
Remain Blessed Always
